Organizational
Communications Series

This series of workshops provides the foundation for all groups who come together to get work done. As organizations migrate toward the creation of work groups and teams, coalitions are chosen, then challenged to rapidly make decisions and complete projects. The ability to skillfully enable great group dynamics is key to their success. This communications series provides participants with tools to use that help make better decisions by leveraging all perspectives. The recommended sequence is listed below, however depending on the specific issue(s) requiring attention, these workshops can be sequenced to meet client requirements for time and content. The segments of the series are:

Life Orientations

This workshop uses unique tools developed by Stuart Atkins, Inc. Unlike many personality based tools, LIFO centers on behaviors which can be modified. This is particularly important when dealing with people or problems is critical. This workshop is designed for individuals who wish to learn how to more effectively deal with people and problems in any of the three basic human situations: personal, with another person, or with groups. In the full day format, manager and leaders will learn methods for getting the best out of their teams when they need to make decisions together. Multiple formats in time and content are available to meet your organization’s needs and requirements.

Developing Collaborative Work Environments

This workshop focuses on the components of a collaborative work place. It compares the traditional structure and the collaborative work environment. It contains analysis and dialogue on culture, leadership, team process, vision and structure. Beginning with the importance of effective communication, and the power of perspectives, this workshop provides the groundwork for real human change in the work environment.

Workgroup Discussion Skills/Effective Meeting Architecture

Participants learn the behaviors that make the best of all that time spent in meetings! A down to earth look at techniques that will move a group to the best decision in the least amount of time. This very interactive workshop uses practice sessions mixed with lecture. Participants will take home some tangible group dynamic tools for effectively working together. As for their next meeting, we will provide functional worksheets for planning all those necessary details.

Negotiating for the Win-Win

Regardless of whether it is family, peers, partners or customers…Participants learn the power of negotiating to a Win-Win solution. They will understand the three stages of negotiation: Preparing, Exploring and Implementing. Participants learn and practice negotiation tactics in each stage. We provide helpful tools for each stage, and we show them how to use them. This day long interactive workshop uses video case studies and practice sessions.

 Strategy Development

This series of structured work sessions support the activities necessary to foster Integrated Alignment. Each of these sessions utilize the client’s own data. Participants learn the processes in each phase and produce actual results for their organization’s use.

Evaluating Current State

This is the preparation stage for creation or change. The evaluation/assessments are conducted at the organization, product, service, process and procedure level. Evaluating creates a shared view of current reality that is critical to the success of the endeavor. It is in developing collaborative evaluations that visioning will be rooted.

Strategic Visioning

This is a process through which the future is described in the “future perfect tense”. It provides a pulling force to that future. This process inspires commitment and a unifying force for a diverse work environment. It encourages the development of a vision community.

Strategic Charting

This is the process of charting a course to arrive at the desired end state, represented by the vision. It describes the “gaps” between the current state and the Strategic Vision. The process fosters the creation of strategic envelope metrics that will determine the levels of success over the next 5-10 years for the organization.
